Hey, I just showed this to my tech-savvy room mate and he is skeptical, espcially due to the lack of cords-to-monitor photos. Can I get some more photos for proof? Haha, I really want one but if he doesn't believe it I won't get it!

Well I can promise you that is real, a good reason is that I am far too lazy to come up with this elaborate plan for a fakemodo. I will work on gettin some more pics or a vid up. Its not like it hasne been done on other computers before. IMO he lacks the required experience to understand that this is completely possible, but I could be wrong although I am usually not. OK I am done being an ass, I will try to get more proof up, I have work and school now so my time will be limited. Thanks for the interest. In the mean time, you can have him email me at guides@uselessninjas.com and I would be more than happy to answer any questions me might have :D

Fantastic post. I am no mac-fanboy, of this I can assure you. In fact, I cant even use the damn thing, but I am fairly certain that I will be building this in the very near future.

Checked out some of yall's other exploits as well. Pretty impressive stuff. Too bad at your age I was too strung out and intoxicated to be useful. However, making up for it now is still incredibly rewarding.

Excellent work.

I wonder, if this would work for the Wind PC, couldn't this also work for the Wind Netbook(s)? I can't see much difference in hardware, and how cool would it be to have a Mac Netbook?

it is most definatly possible to do this on the wind netbooks, in fact they are the best to do it on! visit insanelymac.com as there is already great guides there on hot to do it on the netbook. I am doing this right now except my twist is that it will be a slate tablet, I am using the msi wind netbook and I will make a guide on that as well!

Hi! Could this be done on any regular desktop PC computer? Thanks in advance for your answer, and thank you very much for such a detailed guide!

This can be done on a regular desktop depending on its components, I suggest visiting insanelymac.com for help. And thanks to all of you giving this a go!

Hey, great guide. I am going to attempt this on a Wind notebook - however can you (or anyone) confirm that all things work (wifi and whatever else)?

Everything works with the MSI Wind netbook; it's the best netbook for Leo.

Cool post. Have you looked at the efi-x solution? It's a $200 usb piece of hardware and lets you build a high-end machine for $2K. They're talking it up on macintouch.com.

Got my nettop, So far so good. i have a 2gb ram stick i took from my notebook.

Couple of small things though. I used the bios update from MSI's website which is 1.70 and it disabled the usb options for full/hi. It was there prior to the update(the bios was 1.30, yes 1.30) OSX installed with no problems and runs like a champ. Only bummer is usb is 1.1, not 2.0. currently looking online for a fix, i'll post a update if i find anything. Also installed a pci express intel bg card in it but doesn't seem to get noticed, will give an update if i find a kext for it.

Aside usb which is running at 1.1 speeds, it works great. Installed Boxee on it, it has no problems.. the only slow downs i seen are when i'm watching a video and i use my ipod touch to see my other videos on the ipod touch itself, so its trying to update the image while playing a video, which makes my video choppy till its done getting a still image to the ipod. (brief second or two).

I'm not entirely sure, but I believe that in 1.07, MSI added an auto USB speed thing to the bios that sets it at 1.1 unless the OS requests something higher. If you want to do large file transfers, my suggestion is to do it over ethernet, or by burning DVDs (if you've got a drive attached to it).
